Why was my credit card already charged before the ride has started?

The transaction on your credit card is simply an authorisation to verify the coverage of the credit card in the amount of the expected ride fare. If the ride takes place, the credit card will be charged on the next working day after the end of the ride. If you cancel your ride without incurring any cancellation charges, the authorisation will be automatically cancelled and no charges will be applied.
