How and where do I return my SIXT + car and how does the vehicle return work?
You can return your SIXT + car at any time. Returning a vehicle to a Sixt station will be deemed to be a termination of the existing contract.
Please note that an early return before the end of a 30-day billing period does not lead to a proportional calculation of the respective time period. The contractually agreed monthly rate is always calculated for a full period of 30 days in advance, regardless of the time of return. You can return your vehicle at any time before the 30-day period ends. We kindly ask you to inform us of the return date at least seven days in advance so that we can optimally prepare the return. You can easily arrange your return date in the SIXT app. If you hand in the vehicle without giving a return date, we will charge you a fee of £29.99.
Within your online account, apart from your active SIXT+ subscription you also find an option to return the vehicle. Upon selecting this option you will immediately receive all further information for the next steps.
Drop off the vehicle directly at the SIXT where you picked up your vehicle. You can find information on the return station in your online login. If you return a vehicle to a station other than the pick up station, one way fees will apply.
A return is also possible at any time without notice. Please note that we cannot pre-order an expert in this case and will charge an additional return fee of £39.99.
Upon return, the vehicle is examined for damage and signs of wear. We want to make the vehicle return as transparent as possible for you. When the vehicle is returned, a return protocol is drawn up together with you and the appraiser and photos of the vehicle are taken.
Usual signs of wear and tear during normal use of the vehicle will not be objected to. For each damage event, the costs must be borne up to a maximum of the deductible selected in your subscription.
You need to return the vehicle to the SIXT station before the end of the third 30 days period. Before the end of your maximum contract period, you will receive an e-mail reminding you of the drop-off well in advance.
