How do you capture the beauty of a car when you are unable to see it? The photographer Pete Eckert expresses it in one sentence: “You don’t need eyes to recognize beauty”. “The images are real pieces of art and have a very special atmosphere that only Pete Eckert can create”, Xavier Chardon, Head of Marketing for Volkswagen, explains.
Pete Eckert, a blind photographer who has won multiple awards for his work, has captured not only the silhouette but also the details of the new Volkswagen model Arteon in ten impressive images. By touching the vehicle, he was able to get a feel for the curves and design features and that he later artistically captured on camera. Looking at his art, it is really hard to believe that he is actually blind.
He comments: “I am a visual person. I just can’t see”.
